What Products Can Be Scanned?
A product is eligible for scanning if it meets the following criteria:
- It offers a 3D Customer Experience (such as View-in-3D, View-In-Your-Room, or AR Virtual Try-On).
- The Selling Partner is registered for the product’s brand in Amazon’s Brand Registry.
- Amazon does not already have an existing 3D model for the product.
- The product has not been previously scanned and rejected by another Selling Partner.
While Amazon will attempt to create a 3D model from any completed scan, not all products can be successfully modeled.
Products with the following characteristics are less likely to be successfully modeled:
Large amounts of dense fur or hair
Very complex geometries or textures

For any of the experiences listed below, you can either upload your current assets using the Upload 3D Model tool or create new models with our Mobile 3D Scanning tool.
3D Product View
This feature allows customers to interact with products by rotating, zooming, and examining them from every angle right on their device screen. For applicable items, 3D Product View has replaced the traditional 360° View.
- Where to find it: On the product detail pages of eligible Amazon products, under “View in 3D”.
- Available stores: amazon.com, amazon.ca, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.es, amazon.fr, amazon.it. For fashion-specific items: amazon.nl, amazon.pl, amazon.se, amazon.com.tr.
- Supported devices: Available on iOS and Android devices via the Amazon mobile app. Support for desktop and mobile web will be available in 2024.
- Supported products: Products with compatible 3D assets, including: Shoes (all types), Eyewear, Home & Furniture, Beauty, Baby Products, Sports, Toys, Pets, Automotive, and Electronics.
- Exceptions: Televisions, Rugs, Carpets, Wall Art, and Headphones.
View in Your Room
This feature lets users visualize how a product will look in their personal space, giving them peace of mind that the item will fit before making a purchase.
- Where to find it: On eligible product detail pages, select “View in Your Room”.
- Available stores: amazon.com, amazon.ca, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.es, amazon.fr, amazon.it, amazon.co.jp, amazon.in.
- Supported devices: Accessible via the Amazon shopping app on iOS and Android devices with AR capabilities.
- Supported product types: Any products that can be placed on the floor or a table, or mounted on a wall. This feature does not support clothing, footwear, eyewear, or ceiling-mounted items.
AR Virtual Try-On for Shoes
The AR shoe try-on feature lets customers using our app see how shoes will appear on their feet, viewed from above, showing the top of the shoe.
- Where to find it: On eligible product detail pages, look for “Virtual Try-On”.
- Available stores: amazon.com, amazon.ca, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.es, amazon.fr, amazon.it, amazon.nl, amazon.pl, amazon.se, amazon.com.tr.
- Supported devices: Available on iOS and Android devices that support AR via the Amazon Shopping app.
- Supported shoe types: Sneakers, Oxfords, Loafers, Flats, Slippers, Slides, Platforms, Sport Shoes (cleats, golf shoes), Sandals (excluding Y-straps, flip-flops, or those with straps between toes), and low-heeled varieties (heels <1.5 inches).
AR Virtual Try-On for Eyewear
With the AR try-on for eyewear, customers can see how different frames will look on their face, both from the front and the sides, directly through our app.
